Naproxen 500 mg (enteric-coated),
Uses/Indication
Naprox EC tablets are used to treat; The enteric coating helps protect the stomach lining by allowing the tablet to dissolve in the intestine instead of the stomach.
It is also used to treat painful menstrual periods.
Adults: 250–500 mg twice daily, depending on medical advice
Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew—the coating is essential for delayed release.
Take preferably before meals to ensure proper dissolution in the intestine
Do not exceed 1,000 mg per day unless prescribed.
Common: Heartburn, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache
Less Common: Nausea, constipation, skin rash
Serious (rare): GI bleeding, ulcers, kidney impairment, severe allergic reactions
Seek immediate medical attention for symptoms like vomiting blood, black stools, or difficulty breathing.
Not suitable for children under 12 years
Avoid in patients with peptic ulcer, bleeding disorders, or severe kidney, liver, or heart disease
Caution in elderly, hypertensive, or asthmatic patients
Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs while on naproxen
Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only on medical advice
