1. Composition

• Aluminium Hydroxide – 250 mg per 5 mL
• Magnesium Hydroxide – 250 mg per 5 mL
• Simethicone – 50 mg per 5 mL
• Excipients: purified water, sweeteners, preservatives, flavoring agents

Drug class:

• Oral antacid and antiflatulent combination

2. Uses / Indications

Gastrone Plus Suspension is used for:

• Relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach
• Neutralization of excess gastric acid
• Relief from gas, bloating, and flatulence
• Supportive treatment for mild gastritis or peptic discomfort

Mechanism:

• Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide – neutralize stomach acid, providing symptomatic relief
• Simethicone – reduces surface tension of gas bubbles, helping release trapped gas and reduce bloating

3. Direction for Use

• Adults: 10–20 mL (2–4 teaspoonfuls) after meals or at bedtime, up to 4 times daily
• Children: Dose adjusted according to age; consult a doctor
• Shake well before use
• Use a measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing

4. Side Effects

Generally mild and uncommon, but may include:

• Constipation (from aluminium hydroxide)
• Diarrhea (from magnesium hydroxide)
• Mild stomach discomfort or nausea
• Rare allergic reactions

5. Warnings / Interactions / Cautions

• Do not exceed recommended dose
• Use cautiously in patients with:
• Kidney disease (risk of aluminium or magnesium accumulation)
• Heart disease (if sodium load is a concern)
