Composition:
Amlodipine Besilate 5mg
Uses / Indication
- Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Treatment of chronic stable angina and vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal’s angina)
- Reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack in hypertensive patients
- Can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents

Side Effects
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Flushing
- Peripheral edema (swelling of ankles or feet)
- Rare: palpitations, abdominal pain, gingival hyperplasia

Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis, heart failure, or liver impairment
- Monitor blood pressure regularly during treatment
- Not recommended in pregnancy unless absolutely necessary
Interactions
- May enhance the effects of other antihypertensives, increasing risk of hypotension
- Use caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, erythromycin) which may increase amlodipine levels
- Grapefruit juice may affect drug metabolism
Caution
- Avoid sudden discontinuation of the drug
- Inform physician of any existing medical conditions or medications being taken
- May cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known
