Uses / Indication
Plavix 75 mg is an antiplatelet medication used to prevent harmful blood clots. It is commonly prescribed for:
- Prevention of heart attack (myocardial infarction)
- Prevention of stroke
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)
- Patients who have undergone coronary stent placement
It works by preventing platelets in the blood from sticking together, thereby reducing the risk of clot formation.
Direction for Use
- Take one tablet (75 mg) once daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- It may be taken with or without food.
- Take the medication at the same time each day for best results.
- Do not stop taking the medication without consulting a doctor, as this may increase the risk of clot formation.
Side Effects

- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen
- Omeprazole and Esomeprazole (may reduce the effectiveness of clopidogrel)
- Certain antidepressants such as SSRIs
Patients with active bleeding conditions (e.g., stomach ulcers or brain hemorrhage) should not use this medication unless advised by a doctor.
