Composition:
Losartan Potassium 100mg

Uses/Indication:

• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Management of heart failure (especially in patients intolerant to ACE inhibitors)

• To reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy

• Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and proteinuria

Direction of Use:

• Usual adult dose: 50–100mg once daily or as prescribed by a healthcare provider

• Can be taken with or without food

• Dosage may be adjusted based on response and clinical condition

Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Fatigue

• Nasal congestion

• Hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels)

• Rare: kidney function impairment, allergic reactions

Warnings/Interactions:

• Warnings: Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters

• Interactions: May interact with potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone), NSAIDs, and lithium

• Caution: Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium regularly. Use with caution in patients with renal artery stenosis or hepatic impairment.
