Composition:
Propranolol Hydrochloride 40mg

Uses / Indication:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Control of arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)

• Prevention of migraine headaches

• Management of essential tremor

• Adjunct treatment in thyrotoxicosis and anxiety-related tachycardia

Direction of Use:

• Typical adult dose: 40mg two to three times daily, depending on indication

• Dosage should be adjusted by a healthcare provider

• Take before meals for better absorption, unless otherwise advised

• Do not stop abruptly—tapering is recommended to avoid withdrawal effects

Side Effects:

• Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

• Dizziness or fatigue

• Cold hands and feet

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, diarrhea)

• Sleep disturbances or vivid dreams

• Rare: bronchospasm, especially in asthmatics

Warnings/Interactions /Caution:

• Warnings: Contraindicated in patients with asthma, severe bradycardia, or heart block

• Interactions: May interact with calcium channel blockers (e.g., verapamil), insulin or oral antidiabetics (may mask hypoglycemia), and CNS depressants

• Caution: Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly. Use with caution in patients with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or renal/hepatic impairment.
