Composition:
Mebendazole 500mg

Uses/Indication:

Treatment of intestinal worm infections, including:

Ascariasis (roundworm)

Trichuriasis (whipworm)

Enterobiasis (pinworm/threadworm)

Hookworm infections

Mixed intestinal helminth infections

Direction of use:

Adults and children ≥2 years:

500 mg single dose

Can be taken with or without food

Chewable or swallow whole with water

Side Effects:

Abdominal pain or discomfort

Nausea, vomiting

Diarrhea

Headache

Rare: allergic reactions, rash, or hair loss with prolonged use

Warnings/Interactions/Caution:

Warnings: Not recommended for children under 2 years without medical advice

Pregnancy: Avoid during the first trimester unless absolutely necessary

Interactions: May interact with anticonvulsants (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin), which can reduce its efficacy

Caution: Good hygiene practices (washing hands, trimming nails) are important to prevent reinfection. Treat all household contacts if necessary.
