Composition:

Mebendazole 100 mg per 5 ml (2% w/v) 

Contains parabens (methyl-/propylparahydroxybenzoate) and sucrose-based banana flavour (excipient details)

Uses / Indication:

Treatment of intestinal worm infections, including:

Threadworm (pinworm) 

Roundworm, whipworm, hookworm 

Other mixed helminthic infestations 

Direction of Use:

Adults & children ≥ 2 years:

Threadworms: Single 5 ml dose, repeat after 2–4 weeks if needed

Other worms (roundworm, whipworm, hookworm): 5 ml twice daily (morning & evening) for 3 consecutive days 

Tapeworms: 5 ml twice daily for 6 days

Threadworm heavy infestation (adults): 10 ml twice daily for 3 days

Shake well before use; use the provided 5 ml measuring cup 

Side Effects:

Common: Abdominal pain, stomach discomfort, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea/vomiting

Uncommon/rare: Rash, headache, dizziness, elevated liver enzymes, allergic reactions, neutropenia, hepatitis, renal inflammation, hair loss 

Serious (post-marketing): Stevens–Johnson syndrome/TEN, convulsions

Contraindications:

Children <1 year (use ≥2 years unless specifically prescribed)

Pregnancy and breastfeeding 

Drug interactions:

Avoid co-administration with metronidazole (risk of Stevens–Johnson syndrome)

Cimetidine may increase plasma mebendazole levels

Caution:

Use caution with severe hepatic or renal impairment

Convulsions reported in infants—only use in <2 years under medical advice

Maintain hygiene measures to avoid reinfection (wash hands, clean clothes/linens)
