Composition

Aceclofenac B.P. 100mg and Paracetamol B.P. 325mg

Uses/Indication

To relieve pain and reduce redness and swelling (inflammation) in patients suffering from: osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis

Effective for the treatment of muscle cramps, stiff neck, dental pain and headaches

Soft tissue injuries such as sprains, strains and sports injuries as well as acute gout attacks.

Diarrhea

Dizziness

Stomach pain

Skin rashes

Constipation

Direction for use:

Adults: One caplet twice daily.

Caplets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water and should be taken with or after food.

Do not crush or chew the caplets.

Do not exceed the stated daily dose.

Children:

Kefen Extra Caplet is not recommended for use in children under the age of 18.

Kefen Extra should be given the lowest effective dose over the shortest duration of treatment.

Warning/Interaction:

Aceclofenac may increase risk of:

Heart attack, Stroke.

Use cautiously in: Hypertension, Ischemic Heart Disease

Can trigger:

Asthma attacks

Skin rashes

Anaphylaxis (rare)

Avoid in patients with NSAID-sensitive asthma

Avoid especially in the third trimester → risk of: Premature closure of fetal ductus arteriosus

Interactions:

Anticoagulants

Warfarin

Increased risk of serious bleeding

Other NSAIDs / Corticosteroids

e.g., Ibuprofen, Prednisolone

Greatly increases risk of GI ulcer and bleeding

Antihypertensives

ACE inhibitors, ARBs, diuretics

Reduced blood pressure control
Increased risk of kidney damage (“triple whammy” effect)
