Composition
Naproxen 500 mg per tablet
Uses/Indication
Diseases of the joints such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis.
Naproxen cannot cure arthritis but is used to give relief of some symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness and joint pain.
Attacks of gout
Muscle and bone disorders such as cervical spondylitis, low back pain, strains and sprains, muscular pain and stiffness (fibrositis) and inflammation of tendons (tenosynovitis).
It is also used to treat painful menstrual periods.
Directions for Use
Adults: 250–500 mg twice daily, depending on medical advice
Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew
Take preferably after meals.
Do not exceed 1,000 mg per day unless prescribed.
Side Effects
Common: Heartburn, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache
Less Common: Nausea, constipation, skin rash
Warnings/Cautions
Not suitable for children under 12 years
Avoid in patients with peptic ulcer, bleeding disorders, or severe kidney, liver, or heart disease
Caution in elderly, hypertensive, or asthmatic patients
Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs while on naproxen
Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only on medical advice
Long-term use should be monitored by a healthcare professional
