Product Composition
Each ampoule contains Iron (as Iron Gluconate) 50 mg, Manganese Gluconate 1.33 mg, and Copper Gluconate 0.70 mg as the active ingredients.
Uses / Indications
Tot’hema is used for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia. It is commonly prescribed in cases of low iron levels due to poor diet, pregnancy, blood loss, or increased iron requirements.
Direction for Use
The contents of the ampoule should be diluted in water or fruit juice and taken orally, preferably before meals or as directed by a healthcare professional. The dosage depends on age and severity of iron deficiency, and treatment may continue for several weeks or months until iron levels return to normal.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, and darkening of stools. In some cases, patients may experience tooth staining, vomiting, or allergic reactions.
Warnings / Interactions
This medicine may interact with antacids, tetracycline antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics, levothyroxine, and certain calcium supplements, which may reduce iron absorption. Avoid taking it at the same time as these medications unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Caution
Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers or inflammatory bowel disease. Excessive intake of iron may lead to iron overload, particularly in children. Keep out of reach of children and use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.
