Povidone Iodine 5% or 10% w/v (depending on the product strength)

Uses

Prevention and treatment of wound infections

Used for:

Minor cuts

Abrasions

Small burns

Ulcers

Skin disinfection before/after procedures

Acts as an antiseptic against bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms

Direction of Use

For external use only

Clean and dry the affected area before application

Apply a small amount directly to the wound/skin

May be used 1–3 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional

Wash hands before and after use

Can be covered with a sterile dressing if needed

Side Effects

Possible side effects include:

Skin irritation

Burning sensation

Itching

Redness

Small blisters

Allergic skin reactions (rare)

Avoid contact with eyes and mouth

Do not use on:

Deep wounds

Severe burns

Large skin areas unless advised by a doctor

Prolonged use may affect thyroid function
