2. Uses / Indications
ECL Methylated Spirit is used for:
- Disinfection of minor cuts, abrasions, and surfaces
- Cleaning and sanitizing skin before minor procedures
- Household or laboratory cleaning purposes
- Cooling effect when applied to the skin (evaporation causes cooling)
Mechanism:
- Ethanol denatures proteins of microorganisms, inactivating bacteria, viruses, and fungi
- Methanol is toxic if ingested; acts as a denaturant
3. Direction for Use
- Apply externally on skin or surfaces with cotton, swab, or cloth
- Do not ingest
- Allow the solution to evaporate naturally; do not rinse immediately
