Composition:
· Dextromethorphan hydrobromide – cough suppressant that acts on the cough centre in the brain
· Cetirizine – antihistamine that helps reduce allergic symptoms contributing to coughing
· Phenylephrine – decongestant that may reduce nasal congestion (in some formulations)
· Menthol – provides a cooling, soothing effect in the throat
Uses / Indication:
· Relief of dry, tickly (non‑productive) cough and throat irritation
· Helps relieve coughs associated with allergic symptoms or upper respiratory tract irritation
Directions of Use:
· Shake well before use
· Use the measuring cup or spoon provided with the bottle
· Adults and children over 12 years: typically 5–10 mL every 4–6 hours as needed (do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours)
· Children under 12 years: use only on doctor’s advice and follow age‑appropriate dosing
· Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration without medical advice
Side Effects:
· Common: drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth or throat, nausea
· Less common: headache, sedation, nervousness
· May impair alertness and coordination in some people
Warning / Interaction, Caution:
· Do not use if allergic to any component of the syrup
· Caution in patients with asthma, glaucoma, hypertension, heart disease, or prostate enlargement; consult a doctor first
· May cause drowsiness or dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you
· Avoid alcohol and other sedatives while taking this medicine
· Not recommended for children under 6 years
· Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women; consult a healthcare professional before use
· Seek medical advice if cough persists for more than 7 days, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache
