Product Composition:
Omeprazole 20mg (as enteric-coated granules)

Uses / Indication:

• Treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers

• Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Healing and maintenance of erosive esophagitis

• Part of combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication in peptic ulcer disease

• Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (gastric acid hypersecretion)

Direction of Use:

• Adults: 20mg once daily, preferably in the morning before food

• Capsule should be swallowed whole with water — do not crush or chew

• Duration of therapy varies based on condition (typically 4–8 weeks)

Side Effects:

• Headache

• Abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence

• Diarrhea or constipation

• Dizziness

• Rare: vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use, low magnesium, allergic reactions

Warnings / Interactions / Caution:

• Warnings: Use with caution in long-term therapy — may increase risk of fractures, Clostridium difficile infection, and gastric malignancy masking

• Interactions: May interact with clopidogrel, warfarin, diazepam, ketoconazole, and digoxin

• Caution: Evaluate for malignancy if gastric ulcer is suspected. Not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
