Composition:
Cetirizine Hydrochloride 5mg/5ml

Uses / Indication:

• Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial) such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and itchy or watery eyes

• Treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives)

• Management of other allergic skin conditions (e.g., dermatitis, insect bites)

Direction of Use:

• Children 2–6 years: 2.5ml once daily; may increase to 5ml in divided doses if needed

• Children 6–12 years: 5ml once or twice daily

• Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml once daily

• Shake well before use; use a proper measuring device

• Can be taken with or without food

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness (less common compared to first-generation antihistamines)

• Headache

• Dry mouth

• Fatigue

• Nausea

Warnings:

• Use with caution in patients with severe kidney impairment

• Not recommended for children under 2 years unless directed by a physician

Interactions:

• May enhance the sedative effects of alcohol and CNS depressants

• Minimal drug interactions compared to older antihistamines

Caution:

• Avoid alcohol during treatment

• Do not exceed the recommended dose

• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult a physician before use
