Composition:
Promethazine Hydrochloride 25mg

Uses/Indication:

• Treatment of allergy symptoms such as rhinitis, urticaria, and conjunctivitis

• Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, including motion sickness

• Sedation in pre- and post-operative settings

• Adjunctive treatment for anaphylaxis

• Relief of cold symptoms and insect bite reactions

Direction of Use:

• For allergies: 25mg at night or 12.5mg twice daily

• For nausea/motion sickness: 25mg taken 1 hour before travel, then every 6–8 hours as needed

• For sedation: 25–50mg at night

• Children dosing: Should be based on body weight and under medical supervision

• Can be taken with or without food

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness

• Dry mouth

• Dizziness or confusion (especially in the elderly)

• Blurred vision

• Constipation or urinary retention

• Rare: extrapyramidal symptoms, hallucinations (especially in children)

Warnings/Interactions/Caution:

• Warnings: Not for use in children under 2 years due to risk of severe respiratory depression

• Use with caution in elderly, patients with liver disease, glaucoma, epilepsy, or urinary retention

• Interactions: May potentiate effects of CNS depressants (e.g., alcohol, sedatives, antipsychotics)

• Caution: Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery due to sedative effect. Not for prolonged use unless under medical advice.
