Composition:
Each tablet contains

  • Indapamide (sustained-release) – 1.5 mg
  • Amlodipine besilate – 5 mg

 

Uses / Indication

  • Management of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Used in patients who require combination therapy with a diuretic and a calcium channel blocker
  • Helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack in hypertensive patients

 

Direction of Use

  • As directed by the physician

 

Side Effects

  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Peripheral oedema (swelling of ankles or feet)
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, abdominal pain)
  • Rare: low potassium levels, skin rash, muscle cramps

Warnings

  • Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment
  • Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary
  • Monitor electrolytes and kidney function periodically

 

Interactions

  • May interact with other antihypertensive agents, increasing the risk of hypotension
  • Avoid concurrent use with lithium (risk of lithium toxicity)
  • NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive effect
  • May interact with potassium-depleting or potassium-sparing agents

 

Caution

  • Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight (photosensitivity risk with indapamide)
  • Do not discontinue medication abruptly
